I have just received my Datel Tool battery and have been trying to create the magic card following the instructions here:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/610313
I get to the section where you have to select option four but instead of getting the screen where it shows Target Drive1 / Check partition sector etc my dos screen very quickly flashes up with a message saying "x copy is not a recgnised..." but it's too quick to get the rest.
I've tried running the rest of the instructions, but when I try to reboot with the tool battery I get a black screen and nothing happens.
I have also tried running pandora gui and when I get four files in the games / memory stick 2 that are corrupt, one that says pandoras battery creator and pandoras battery firm. installer. When I try and run the firm installer file it says "the game could not be started (8002014C).
I've got a fat psp running official version 3.73.
Please can someone help! If I've missed anything please let me know.
Cheers!

are you running vista???`wont work on vista
you must leave your psp connected at all times (in usb mode) to create the battery (except when your are prompted to disconnect it and such)

you cant run either since you have official firmware, you don't need to run them anyway since you have the datel battery already
you have downloaded the full easy installer correct?
http://www.sendspace.com/file/r3hmt2
make sure you are entering the correct letter of the drive your psp is named under in the "my computer"

I have downloaded that file which I got from the first guide I mentioned above. When I run this I get through to the stage where you pick option 4 and this is when it appears to go wrong - in the dos box is flashes up a very quick message saying xcopy is not a recognised command.
I am using XP SP2.
Do you know if there is a guide where it shows all the files which need to be on the memory stick and the architecture?
Thanks very much for your help...

from what i understand some windows of windows wont except the command
xcopy, or have difficulty using batch programs with xcopy integrated into it
for that reason the program xxcopy was created
http://www.xxcopy.com/download/xxcopy.zip
INSTALL.BAT ; run this batch program without an argument
first run this a window will flash quickly, nothing will really pop up
then run the program below it will step you through the installation
XXCOPY.EXE
http://www.xxcopy.com/download/xxcopy.zip
questions, comments, results??

I have followe your instructions (and those with the download!) but it doesn't seem to make a difference - although the "error" message appears longer when I'm running the univer file - I managed to grab a screen shot - it basically says:
'xcopy' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file
I have had issues with dos in the past - for example when I try running the ipconfig command I get the same message as above unless I move to the windows/system32 folder. This is probably completely unrelated but thought I should mention it.
Any other thoughts? Your help is much appreciated.

Right, use the Pandora Gui, cause that worked for you and created all the right files.
Then, turn off the psp, take out the normal battery, and TAKE OUT THE MEMORY STICK and put it back in. i dunno why, but you have to do this. then once youve taken the memory stick out and put it back in, put in the TOOL Battery. The psp should automatically turn on, and the downgrade menu should appear
I use Pandora Gui and Tool Battery aswell and works perfectly for me. Just make sure you take the memory stick and put it back in before putting the TOOl battery in.
Fat Psp, Bought Day Of Release :D 1.50 > Various Other OFWs > 3.40 > 3.72 > Pandora..=]> 1.50 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.72 M33-4 > 3.90 M33-2 w/ 1.50 kernel
Slim Psp FINALLY 3.71 > Pandora-fied seconds after leaving the box ^-^ > 3.90 M33-2

http://www.dark-alex.org/
you can get CFWs there
i suggest upgrading to 3.71m33-4, the other versions have alot of issues loading iso and cso's made for other firmwares
with CFW you can....
play PSP games off your memstick
you can higher your CPU speed
there are registry hacks
you have 4 levels of light
you can change the entire layout of the psp with XMBS
http://www.consolespot.net/ it completely transforms the layout!
you can also play GBA, GB NES, PS1 games all perfectly with no sound or audio lose
there is now also a nintendo DS emulator for the PSP, however its very slow and is still in the testing stages
the N64 emulator will emulate most games at near perfect speed when the right preferences are enabled
am not sure what firmware you currently running, but if its 1.50 you must go
1.50>3.40OE>3.51m33>3.51m33-7>3.71m33>3.71m33-4

What type of theme is it?
If its a .ptf, put it in: MEMORYSTICK ROOT > PSP > THEME
If its the other type (can't think of a definition for it) you'll need to enable flash0 in USB, and copy the theme files to it.

oneear- link us to the theme, XMB themes will ONLY WORK ON THE PSP CFW THEY WERE INTENDED FOR~~you will get a full brick if you install
a XMB on a CFW it wasn't meant for! .PTF themes can be installed by dragging and dropping them to the correct folder on the PSP memstick
like G-ush said,
Quote: I'm really looking forward to having four brightness settings on my psp
I know right?? its the most AMAZING THING EVER!~~jk
