upgrade 3.40OE-A problems,need help.

Have this old FW on fat psp and was wondering how do I upgrade to later/latest FW?
Tried but get the message "need 3.52 or higher" when trying later FW upgrade...tried 3.52 but get message "not valid of some kind"
Im sure im doing something wrong.....please help?

right you need to update to 3.52m33-2,3,4 then you update to newer cfw theres a tutorial if you click my userbar in my sig. its the second one in my blog

thanks but some of the files that are needed are expired (marked)
Not sure if its safe to try getting the file(s) elsewere?
Installation for an OE/M33 firmware
Installing 3.52 Custom Firmware on an OE or a M33 PSP:
o Copy the folder 'M33CREATOR' to the directory; 'X:/PSP/GAME150/' on your PSP's memory stick.
o Download the official 3.52 update: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1209 and rename to 352.PBP. (E X P I R E D)
o Copy the 352.PBP to the directory; 'X:/PSP/GAME150/M33CREATOR/' on your PSP's memory stick.
o Download the official 1.50 update: http://rapidshare.com/files/67857715/163_EBOOT_1.50.zip and rename to 150.PBP.
o Copy the 150.PBP to the directory; 'X:/PSP/GAME150/M33CREATOR/' on your PSP's memory stick.
o Execute '3.52 M33 CREATOR' under GAME on your PSP.
o Then execute '3.52 M33UPDATE' under GAME on your PSP.
o Once finished, press X.
o Have fun on 3.52 Custom Firmware!

thanks,downloaded all files and did what turtoral said (above)
but got this error when installing:
3.52 M33 FIRMWARE CREATOR
Loading 1,50 fw ok
writing 1,50 fw ok
Loading 3,52 fw....PBP signature dont match.
press X to exit.
Any ideas?

you did name it to 352.pbp but i think its a different error message
the eboot for 3.52 is here as well if you want to try a different on (if you did name it 352.pbp)
the link has it renamed 352.pbp for you 0_<
hope that all helps
sorry that its a rapidshare link (boxtr wasnt working :-( but if i get a change ill change it to a boxtr link 0_< )

thank you,your latest link/file worked fine.(it had bigger size than previously tested file)
Im now on 3.52M33-4 FW
3.71 update
"Copy the UPDATE directory into /PSP/GAME/UPDATE and copy the EBOOT.PBP of the 3.71 Sony updater
there but with name "371.PBP"."
when doing this psp screen says
veryfing pbp......incorrect file
?

ill upload all the files that you need to run 3.71m33 so all you need to do is copy them to the correct place

got it uploaded to megaupload :-( o well it still works it here
im still uploading it to boxtr so if the link above doesn't work then ill put the boxtr link on
here is the boxtr link might be better than megaupload.

megaupload worked fine,however when starting the application the standard XP message occur:
encounted a problem and need to close...send report to MS etc

im uploading a new one now all you need to do is open the folder called installer and copy the folder update to your game folder

yer its all fine thats the way that 3.71m33+ works thats why you have to have the 1.50 addon.
dont worry im not trying to get you to update to ofw
im uploading the 150 addon for 3.71m33 know for you once you've finished updating

get the error message "incorrect or inexistant 1.50pbp at root"
do I really need this or upgrade beyond 3.71?
Looks like psp is working propaply at this point (didnt with 3.40=E-A)

your on 3.71m33 at the moment yes? (setting ---> system settings ---> system information version should be 3.71m33)
you've downloaded the 1.50kernel_addon.rar
open it up in there there should be a folder called update and and 2 txt files
copy the folder update to the game folder on your psp.
then before you run it make sure that your game folder is set to the 3.71kernel do this by going to recovery mode (hold the power up till it flashes then it will turn off turn it back on while holding the r trigger) then go to configurations and in there you should see something that says game kernel change it to 3.71.
exit it and then go to the update run it and it should work fine i'v checked all the files in there and there all fine.

are you on 3.71m33
if you dont install the 1.50 addon then you wont be able to run any homebrew applications

only using psp for games+ some movie watching.
Never used it for homebrew stuff......so I dont know what im missing :-/

did you put the folder called update into the game folder and change the game kernel to 3.71. or you can put the folder update in game371 and that will act as a game folder set to 3.71 kernel i did check the files in there all fine.
you can keep it at 3.71m33 with out the 1.50addon if you want it just that it not to hard to install 0_<
