1.) YOUR PSP SYSTEM~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
if its thick (about an inch) and its yours congradulations youve got an extreemly hackable psp w00t aka: fat psp
if its very light (weight wise) and the face of the psp is very small and crappy then that really sucks its a slim and much harder to hack and its less durable..
another way to tell if youve got a fat or slim psp in youre psp's xmb(main menu screen after you turn it on) go all the way to the left then go down to system settings and press the (x) button then scroll down to system information and on the first line it should say system software...if it says 3.59 or down its a fat psp if it says 3.60 and up its a slim psp

2.)HACKING

hacking is a dangerous thing in the psp world and it is totally awesome if it is done right but if it is done wrong than your screwed (for details about this screwing of the psp go to number 4 on this guide thing) if you want to hack your fat psp you must have either a 1.50 - 3.03 system software psp or a "pandora battery" (a battery that loads a hacking menu off the memory stick to install a hacked psp firmware or system software as said above or simply downgrade to psp version 1.50) and all firmwares between 1.00 and 3.03 are very hackable the higher firmware the harder to hack...

3.)HACK PROOF PSP'S
the psp is a fragile system if you try to hack the wrong motherboard type it will brick (see number 4) and on most psp models inside the umd or cd case up at the top right there is an exposed part of the motherboard... its green with gold lettering that say IC001 through ICOO6 and if it says ICOO3 youre in luck you can hack it but all others can only be hacked with special hacking psp programs that you need to find on google or something and if you dont pay attention to this youre gonna get a brick...

4.)BRICKING!!!

it almost never happens but when it does man does it suck.
a "BRICK" is a psp that is almost completely unuseable it doesnt turn on, you cant play games and the only way to fix it is with a pandora battery and amagic memory stick (search that if you want to know it) and the ways you can do this are by turning off while updating, deleting the psp's FLASH0 files (the recource files that tell the psp how to load games and play movies and listen to music and stuff like that)

THOSE ARE THE BASICS OF THE PSP AND I WROTE ALL THAT ITS NOT PLAGORIZED OR ANYTHING MY FIRST GUIDE AND I HOPE IT HELPS

Thats not right. Yes, on a slim you can only get 3.60 up (without the help of Dark_Alex's Time Machine), but on fat psp you can get ANY firmware, from 1.50 (oh yeah and the legendary 1.00 ^-^) all the way up to the lastest firmware.
