I just wanted to let the forum know that as crazy as this may sound the 360 camera works on the PS3. So if you were thinking of getting a PSeye and you already have a xbox and a camera just use the xbox camera. Save yourself a few dollars.

You're forgetting that the 360 camera is way inferior to the PSEye. SO while you may save a few bucks, you will lose a lot in picture quality

So does that mean that any USB will work? If so if not for games what can you use a USB web camera for? I tried to hook up my Roketfish webcam on my PS3 and it did not work.

Im afraid your wrong, the Xboxs camera is Superior,it supports a still image of 1280x1024(1.3mp)making it HD,while the PS3s eye can support a maximum still image resolution of 640x480,i was very dissapointed with the PS3 eye,i expected a HD camera but i didnt get that.I already knew that the 360 cam was far superior but so you can see for yourself and that i am not just being biased i will leave links so you can view for yourself.

My question is will the PS3 limit the maximum quality of the camera to the PS eye's resolution. And what is the max resolution of videos of the Xbox's camera?
And I tried my webcam as well and it didn't work, it was a Logitech quickcam.

Well if the video qualities are both the same then lets be honest, who is going to use them for still pic's anyway, I'd rather have the built in directional mic than better still picture quality.

That is true, the 360 cam doesnt even have a microphone.
Not to mention the nifty optical zoom by twisting the camera lens, though I've only ever used the larger zoom on it because I've always kept it mounted a fair ways away.
Basically to go off of what Zero already said the only reason to use it would be if one already had an Xbox camera and didn't have the money to get the PS eye at the time. If one were going to get either of them get the PS eye hands down.
Hm, heres something I just pondered... Will the PS eye work on the 360?
