my wiikey is soldered, my 3rd point had to be soldered to the 5th leg as well, anyways, is there any way of knowing if its working, i have tried a couple of backups but it wont read the disc but all originals play fine...thanks

did you update your WiiKey's firmware after installing it? or will it not read the update discs either? if it wont read the update discs you may want to try the GCOS versions of the update discs, most of it can be found here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/597460

if none of that works, the chip may be dead, or connected wrong.
