This version is still in development stage. But comes very rapidly v2 with kernel and sits there nicely. Then no longer goes that by means of winrar.
They've developed the first 3.90 M33 Easy Installer program for the PSP, which should allow you to upgrade to 3.90 M33 on Windows 2000, XP and Vista machines.
The main problem you might have with this installer is the fact that it's not completely in English. That being said, if you want to activate the installation procedure on your PSP, just select the drive letter that corresponds to your PSP, and then click on "Installeren." That should get everything up and running.
for those of you who want a relatively quick and painless process for upgrading your firmware, then you may want to try this out. Enjoy!

after installing 3.90m33 if u want the 3.90m33-2 follow this
download the 3.90m33-2 update here http://dark-alex.org/
copy the update folder to GAME folder on your memstick
scroll to game on you xmb and run the programme
you are now on 3.90m33-2 enjoy
this will only work on versions 3.52m33-2 and above

will this work with any cfw or just 3.52m33-2 and above?
I'm only 2428 posts away from being an afterdawn addict!

If I choose not to add 1.5 kernal now, is it no prob to add later? I don't mind doing it now, but is there anything to know if I do add it? I never "quote" used apps on 1.5 homebrew since old PSP raido and later got 3.03-OE version (oh ya, what folder do I run this from now?). what spacific things will I have to have the 1.5 kernal?
What is the homebrew app that allows me to back-up my own UMD directly to memory stick? Will this require 1.5 cfw addon kernal?

This is a great installer. I tried it on my psp manually (without this installer) and i had troubles. By using this, i was able to install 3.90 M33.
I was on Newbie and went straight to Junior member... did i miss out member?

What fw whereyou on to start, fat or slim, and where do you run the easy installer from? Do you have to put anything on the memory card first, if so what folder?

That message would make sense if this only updates existing, cfw but if not what am i doing wrong. I tried it with all the normal files left on the ms and with it formatted.

as stated this only works with cf not official this will upgrade 3.52m33-2/3/4 up to 3.90 M33

I got this same message in 3 different pC and OS's coming from each cfw 3.52/M33-2 and cfw v3.71/M33-2. I had to manually move the files to my pro stick to upgrade and it worked but never got a reply to my error issues either. I went diretly to 3.90/M33 then m33-2

1.5 Add on for FAT's only? If I add this is it simple to remove should I need to for whatever reason? I done't care about the other language other then English/German and I can ca configure my Remote Play for my SLIM.
I'm asking cause I noticed the peepz running virtual machines for Windows 95/98 or Linux and mac are using 1.5 Kernal homebrewed units. Although I did get uClinux to run in 3x kernal on my SLIM, but I want a GUI version. I cant find any PSP linux users on this form for GUI versions and for 3.x kernal at that.. Anybody, any leeds?
