Need help to Replace xbox 360 DVD drive

Hey everyone, I have a sticking samsung drive in my xbox 360 so I wana replace it. I have another broken 360 with the same drive, Im going to swap it. I know in order for it to run xbox 360 games i need to extract the original dvd key and patch it to the new one, can anyone link me to a Tutorial? Ive searched afterdawn and cant find one. either that or does anyone know how to fix a sticking drive?

If the drive sticks you can just leave a disc in there and that'll sort of solve the problem. It's a common problem with Samsung drives going back to the original Xbox and even PC drives. With 2 Samsung drives you can swap out the boards in them and then you don't have to bother with flashing.

will it fix the problem of the drive sticking? if i want to replace the whole thing do you have a link to a tutorial?

I solved the tray sticking on my daughters ms25 by removing the rubberband from the motor and cleaning it in rubbing alcohol. Plus using a q tip and alcohol to clean out the grooves the rubberback rides in. You can also try and just replace the rubberband.

well i think its the alignment, it only sticks when its verticle. All i do is gently press on the tray and it opens right up. Also when i tilt it a little sideways it doesnt stick. The xbox has been fixed from RROD, so the bolts make it a tighter fit. Maybe thats it...
