God of war umd won't work on 3.90 m33-2

I just updated my psp CFW to 3.90 m33-2 like two days ago and everything is cool. today i bought god of war for the psp... yes bought. but now it won't read the disc all my other games work, all that happens is after i select the umd icon it plays the PSP logo and go's to a black screen then returns to the menu and display's "the game could not be started. (80020148)"

if i remember correctly when this happend a long time ago i had to set the use umd option in the CFW menu, but that was for iso's but now i'm trying to play the legit game. any suggestions? and it is currently set to "use umd"
i guess i could always make a backup of the game but i'd rather just play off the umd.

nevermind i figured it out. i had to disable all the advance settings.

i have the same prob. im currently on 3.90 M33-3. also the legit backup of my umd wont work, so ive tried dl'ing a ripped one off the net and that didnt work either. all my other games/iso work cept for GOW. ive disabled the advanced setting and its still a no go.

ive also toggled umd to autostart on and off and all the settings [m33 driver, normal, oe isofs, sony np9660].. nothing.

you should downgrade to 3.80 m33-5 thats what im on and GOW and FF7 CC work great. I went to 3.90 m33-2 and i couldnt play some of my psx games.

This is disturbing to me. I'm on 3.80m33-5 and am able to play a CSO of God of War just fine.

I wonder if this is something Sony's done to oppose hacking via the UMD's?

i dunno, im sure they are doing their best to keep the hacking from happening... im just glad that you didnt need an update of 3.9 or higher to play it.
