I had the ring of fire so I sent it in to microsoft and they gave me one that had a different sieral number. The one i got now does not read the discs so i called back and said it was out of waranty because it is more than 90 days. (I had it 94 days). The only way I won't get charged $70.00 is if it has the ring of death. Does anyone know how I can make it happen?

Leave it on for a week straight in an enclosed cabinet and that will work, what I would do.

LOL, i was going to say the same thing. The Xbox gets RROD (Red Ring Of Death). The Ring Of Fire is a song by Johnny Cash.

But i would agree, let that sucker heat up for a few days and it should give you the RROD. If not you may want to think about keeping it and just replacing the DVD drive.

Ok so I went to youtube to look up that song you said and I found alot of videos called Ring Rings of Fire. There are like 20 million songs about RROD but they call it Fire. Hmm

I put a blanket around it so it would overheat and it got very hot but than the moter shuts off and it blinks the red lite. Then when i turn it on again it goes to green. I tried this for hours., I am going to just send it in. I atleast will get another year warrenty. Thanks anyways Dan
