hey guys, im really new to this psp stuff, but a guy from sony modded my psp, I am not sure which CFW he put on it(or how to find out for that matter) but ever since I told my psp to enable flash player and it connected to the internet I can not boot PSP ISO's this really sucks since I was in the middle of god of war :-(, anyways I was wondering if you guys could tell me how to find out which custom firmware I had, so maybe I could reload it onto my psp and fix the problem, or if there is another way to fix the problem that would be awesome to,
For a start, go to the XMB (The menu when you switch on the PSP) and go across to Settings, scroll down to System Settings, then second from bottom i think it is it says System Information. Click on that and could you tell us what it says the 'System Software' is, cause this is the firmware
and I just changed it to M33 and it fixed it :-) thanks for the speedy reply guys everyone here at afterdawn are so helpful, just for future reference, is it ok if sony releases an update for me to update my firmware, or will that erase the CFW and make it OFW, and if a new CFW is released is it easy to update and how would a go about doing that?
cfw is simple to update and you wont need to update yours for a long time because it is the most up to date
dark alexs is the cfw maker keep posted on psp web sites for his name any thing with his name in means that something new is coming out 0_<
4.00 will be then next likely update from sony but wait about a month and dark alex will have decrypted it and fix it to work with homebrew and all the stuff that makes the psp so good 0_<
Thankfully, Dark_Alex (the main guy behind M33/ Custom Firmware) Added the option from 3.80M33 onwards to update to CFW instead of OFW when clicking on the UPDATE on the Menu. To make sure this is turned on (to avoiding updating to OFW) Go to the recovery menu, Go to configuration, and check that 'Use M33 Network Update' is on.
Once its on, you can just use the network update in the XMB to keep updating to CFW =)
allright one final question and ill stop bugging you guys :-)
I have a copy of final fantasy 7 on my computer that I want to play on PSP, I know how to convert PS1 to PSP succesfully ( I did it with grand theft auto) but when I try to play FF7 I hit new game and the screen just goes black and nothing comes up, this is the only PS1 game I have had trouble with so far, anyone know how to fix it?
