I really want to Buy SSBB since it is a game that I like and want to show the developers that I care. However, I have a wiikey and can't play it...is there any chance that an update will come out to allow the wiikey to work?

I have someone who can put in a switch for me if needed but it will be expensive so I do not want to do it unless I have to.

The Jap SSBB backup works so I assume the US and PAL versions will as well. It's just the original that doesn't so I wouldn't bank on there being an update as long as that's the case - that's just my opinion tho and not official.

I want to by the offical. I don't even know if I can burn a dual layer disc with my burner.... but I really really really want a copy so I might have to get a back up but now I'm afraid mario kart won't work in the future so they need to make an update.

Wait. I know about the Brawl thread, but it's ridiculously huge and there is no way I am sorting through that.

If I have a wii with a wiikey chip, can I play the retail SSBB NTSC on it?

I'm getting mixed answers from some of the posts I am reading.

No.

Not unless you install a switch to turn the chip on/off, OR temporarily brick the wiikey (which effectively disables it, and its supposed to be reversible).
