I have flashed the above drive correctly! Movies, originals play perfect. ISO burns DO NOT - get UNPLAYABLE DISC. Followed all tuts to the T using lates firmware on XBINS.

Can anyone please advise?

Ok so what brand of discs are you using?
What layer break are you using?
What speed are you burning at?
Is the game the same region as your system?

Try the burned games on a friends backed xbox and see if there the problem and if they are not then just reflash your system. It is the easyest one to do. Just hit restore batch and then flash bat and that might fix something if not then its most likly the system

I am using VERBATIM DVD+R DL Discs.
The layer break is 1913760 - IMGBURN
Burn speed is 2.4x
Tried several games.

I don't know anyone near me who has a flashed 360 so that I can try.

I have RESTORED and REFLASHED TWICE using the latest on XBINS which is:

iXtreme1.4_Hitachi_C4EVA_rev1

My originals and movies are fine just UNPLAYABLE DISC with backups. Do you guys think I should invest in a replacement laser? Is that really going to make any difference.

If you were in my position what would be your next step?

I really appreciate the help you guys are giving me!

I would just stick to originals, it's not meant for you to play backups.

here is what I did i forgot to plug the sata cable back into the drive ( the original black sata cable inside ur 360) so make sure you put that back in first and let us know if u still have problems

He says originals and movies load fine just not backups. So this means that the SATA cable is plugged in. You should of seen me though, when I flashed my Hitachi. I forgot to plug in the SATA cable and nothing was loading (obviously). I thought I bricked the drive or something.

I would look into doing a laser tweak on your current laser, before going out and purchasing a new laser unit. When I was modding a gamecube I had, backups wouldn't load until I tweaked the laser down to 204 ohms (originally at 650 ohms).

If i had a nickel for every time i forgot to plug that damn cord back in after modding a customers xbox i could damn well near buy a new xbox
