hello all, i have a bricked psp and i want to unbrick it. some questions...
1) can i unbrick my psp without having to have another psp? i dont know anyone with a psp.
2) why do i need a brand new battery to unbrick my psp? is it really necessary to have one?
3) in the following guide to create a magic mem stick, found here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/610313#3685241 there's a step that says "Disable the USB and Format your Memory Stick via System Settings. Then enable the USB again. Then press any key to continue"... this is done after choosing to install pandora installer. After this stage, will the psp be unbricked enough to be able for me to reformat the mem stick?
and just letting you know, my psp is blank. all that turns on is the green power light, that's all. thanks and i hope to hear your advice soon.

1. Yes, u can
2. It is better to have a spare, if u are going to unbrick ur psp without an another CFW psp. Then u will need to open the battery itself. U are going to pull a pin but if u pull the wrong then the battery would be dead
3. That isnt the correct guide to unbrick ur psp without a PSP. Use this guide http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/591203
4. That would be a brick :)

When I went to that webpage, I downloaded the program and tried to work it with my PSP. I don't think that guide is meant to revive my PSP since it doesn't give any steps in helping you to detect the PSP. The program asked me for a drive letter of my PSP. I don't know it offhand. However, it still didn't detect it. And I don't think the program is meant to detect a PSP anyway. I think it's meant to revive semi-bricked PSPs.
I still need help in unbricking my PSP.

07anto07 thanks for the response. so just to be clear, i would need a datel battery and a card reader? I already have a built-in card reader in my computer, so that takes care of the card reader. All I need now is to buy a datel battery. Where can I find a cheap one? And, where are the instructions on unbricking my psp after i get these items? thanks!

you simply get the datel here
[warning cheap ones on ebay and other sites CAN BE FAKES this link is to a real one!!]
http://www.consoleshop.com/product.php?p...ooglebase&bid=3
you then create the memory stick
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/610313
put the memory stick in the psp, then the battery and look at the screen and follow its directions!

dont even try to unbrick it, u described my PSP, I used pandora battery and despertad del cementerio. All it does when you put in the Memory stick and the battery the 3 lights turn on and they dont blink and it shuts down after 20 sec. I know the pandora and despertad del cementerio were installed correctly because when i put the pandora battery and magic stick the psp asks to downgrade.
If someone does know how to fix it, I also need help,
The guy replying to my message is pretty cool :)
