Hi i got the Unplayable Disc error after playing Elders Scroll Oblivion last Sunday i think and then i ordered a box from microsoft cuzz it wasnt working at all no discs were working other than music but i waited 2 days or so didnt use it and now it works! so far 26 hours or so its been working ( Playing Oblivion :) not all in 2 days tho lol ) will it most likely come back? If so should i ship it to microsoft? They are already shipping me the box should be here in a few days. Thanks for helping me in advance.

If it's still under the warranty, ship it to them. I did that with a eBay console and they repaired and shipped it out the same day they received it. I got the same console back. It had a Hitachi 78 drive and came back with a Benq. Fix it before it gets worse.

how long does it take for them to get it back to me? Because i have a warranty until about december and i have the 3 year warrenty for RROD so you really think i should just send it in? Its having no problems right now and hasnt for a whole week.

Yep, the 79 is the hard one. I haven't really read of any 79s going bad. Seeing how you still got plenty of time left on your 1yr. warranty, maybe you should just play the crap out of it for awhile and see if it gives you any more problems.

I bought 2 360s off eBay last month. One had the read error and the other was a rrod. I sent them in 4 days apart. The read error was shipped UPS and took 3 shipping days (Mon-Fri) to get from PA to TX. MS repaired it and shipped it out the same day. It took 4 shipping days to get back to me and came FedEx. The rrod console also tooks 3 days to get to TX., but they still haven't repaired it yet, and it's going on 2 weeks. It was a launch console, so I'm positive I'll get a refurb and not the original back. But if they just need to replace your drive, you should get it pretty quick.

thanks for the info :) so how long do i have to send the 360 in once i get the box? Do you know? And if i dont send in my 360 will anything happen?

I believe they need to receive it within 30 days of when the claim was started. If not, they just simply close it. Or you can contact them and cancel the claim.
