Most every time I go to burn the .dvd file I'm getting "I/O error, check condition..etc..etc" and IMG burn crashes. This happens 2-3x's before I finally get a completed burn. This means 2-3 coasters for every game. I've had this happen with clone cd also. This has also happened when I just burn the iso and not the .dvd file and also when I've made my own .dvd file with mulleter. This has never happened with ps2 games only with 360 dl games from very popular "places." I've tried every type of media including phillips, memorex AND verbatims from singapore and it always happens. I just updated img burn with the newest version, and my burner doesn't need firmware update(I don't think).

What is my problem?

Sounds like your burner has a problem with dls.

That'd be the first thing I'd check. It only takes 2 seconds to check and 5 to update, if needed.

I just wanted to give an update for those that may be having this same problem.

I have a phillips DVD RW 8701 drive on a Dell computer. Upon researching the firmware to update this, I discovered that most people with this burner have MAJOR problems ONLY when burning DL discs. BINGO. Apparently the Benq 1640 drive is the exact same drive as the phillips only with a different faceplate. I guess this drive is much more reliable when burning DL discs and can be cross flashed easily by following this link and dl the proper programs to flash your phillips drive and turn it into Benq. you then shouldn't have anymore problems burning DL discs like you did with the phillips drive

Haven't tried this yet, but hopefully this was the problem
