i just tried this new fix and u dont have to put the same ID for both Game ID and save ID, only for the Game ID,

so the Save ID remains the original one. This way, if ppl wanna play both the jap and usa version of the game

(i know most of them will play one or the other :p ),the save doesnt screw up by overwritting them each time u play it..

so each version has its own save id folder on the memory stick. So I put SLPS01222 as Game ID and SLUS00748

as Save ID for Leon's Disc on the Greatest Hits/Dual Shock version of RE2 NTSC/US and its working fine too,

no black screen at the police station :D

Edit: nope, iit still overwrite the save, i think the Game ID stores the gamesaves on the ms not the save id..

so leaving the save id unchanged still overwrite the other save with the same G ameID..oh well,

then im not gonna play Biohazard 2 just RE2 :p

Ok guys, I think this has got it and thanks to Dany23 for the inspiration.

It seems the Japanese version, Biohazard 2, seems to work so as an experiment

I used the Jap ID for my PAL version of Resident Evil and I got to the Police Station and entered successfully,

I haven't got any further because I was so chuffed!

I haven't tested with other versions but it suggest POPS is written with actual ID's in mind so

this might help with other games.

More tests have identified that the Game ID and Save ID needs to be the same for both discs SLPS01222.

It doesn't work if you use the correct Game ID for Claires disc.
