Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue when I burn my backups. About 10-20min during game play it will freeze and display the error 'Game Disc could not be read'. I burned my backup at 2x,I'm using good media and I used ImgBurn -- any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I believe you got to burn it at 2.4x if anyone can confirm this.

Well, still gives me an error but now it's when the game boots an I get into the menu... I have a feeling it's a media issue. I used to backup my games onto these cheap Memorex DVD-R and I NEVER had any issues. Since I've been using the Taiyo's I've had a 1:3 good to bad ratio. I'm going to purchase some different media and post my results.

you don't "got to" burn the discs at any given speed. Speed varies with the media and your burner. Just try different speeds until you get the desired result. "everyone" said to burn Brawl at 2.4x and when I tried, it failed. I burned at 4x and with my lite on burner and my TDK discs, it finally worked.

Ok, well after buying some cheap Memorex 16X DVD-R, which didn't even work at their lowest speed, I went back to the original media I've been using. It FINALLY worked at 6X!

... 6X? Any ideas? I've always read anywhere burn at 2X/2.4X/4X -- but I'm not complaining ;)

I have NEVER been able to get ANY Memorex media to work on my wii. I would never recommend that crap media

strange, it would seem that some people burning brawl swear by memorex DVD+R DL. Although one thing everyone can agree on is that it's dirt cheap.

Even though, as a generic rule, 4x for DVD-R and 2.4x for DVD+R DL are the specs for most people, most does not mean all. Therefore, I agree with you, that it's absolutely a matter of burner/media combination.
