Xbox 360 prices to drop in Europe at week's end

Starting on Friday, March 14, Microsoft will reportedly be cutting the price of the 20GB Xbox 360 in Europe to 270 euros. This represents a drop of 80 euros. Meanwhile, in the UK the price of the entry level model (with no hard drive) will be slashed £40 to £159.99. Just makin' room for the 60GB...

Anyways, this is good for the consumer because this will most likely cause a PS3 price drop sooner then planned :)

Sony will more than likely sit tight and wait to see what this price drop will do for Microsoft. Europe is the only area where Sony is making money on the PS3 because of conversion rates so they are in no hurry to drop the price there. Though if Microsoft starts to move some consoles they will have no choice, though they do have the advantage on being able to drop prices closer to the release of GTA4.
