I got these instructions when i googled: connecting ipod to xbox 360
I don't have xbox live and will not be getting it anytime soon. How do i manually do this? could i somehow get that installer onto a usb flash and hook it up to the xbox 360 usb port?

* With your Xbox 360 connected to Xbox Live, you'll need to download the optional iPod Support file posted on the Xbox 360's online service. This file lets you listen to non-DRM (digital rights management) AAC files (Apple's preferred audio format). To find it, select Xbox Live Marketplace, Game Downloads from the Xbox Live area of the Xbox Dashboard.
* Choose All Games and select Alphabetical List of Games.
* Choose Optional iPod Support twice and then Confirm Download to download the file.
* With the download complete, choose Done and return to the Xbox Dashboard.
* Connect your iPod to the Xbox 360 through the digital audio player's cable.

I don't know if you can do it Manually, but why not just create a Silver Membership (free), and just download it that way?

All xbox's come with silver you dont need to pay for XBL if you just wana get updates and patches I dont think. Try it and see you have nothing to lose

There is always a chance that you will but since its aready modded you have nothing to lose. Its not like the second you play on live with a burned game they ban you. Its a random thing that rarly happens so you should be fine to download that patch you need
