what is the recommended driver for the UMD drive? M33 Driver or Sony NP9660?
another thing, what is the recommended setting for the cpu speed for both games and xmb? is it good to install system101 which would auto-throttle the cpu speed?

all up to you 0_<
m33 will work on nearly every game where as the sony one lags on 3.80m33 and 3.90m33 but it does work fine.
as for cpu speed if you dont want to keep changing the cup speed each time you go to play a game then use system101.
hope that helps out xmb cpu speed doesnt make much of a difference unless playing big movies but 222mhz/266mhz can still handle that.
hope that helps

so this means that the m33 driver would be the best choice? because the sony one has some lag issues correct?
there are two system101 files in pspslimhacks, one is named "system-player-101-390-m33" and the other "sysplayer101updater". do i need to install both?
my psp doesn't charge when plugged in through the mini usb port when in off mode. Although it charges through the usb when it is turned on. is this normal?
what is the recommended setting for the "game folder homebrew" in recovery mode?
how about the "fake region"?
what does "hard reset on homebrew" mean?
if i install system101, can i also uninstall it? what does the "plugin" in the recovery mode do?
sorry for the questions, im a noob here.

yes m33 driver is the best one to use as it runs almost every game and the games that dont run on it just turn no-UMD off and put a umd in the drive and it will work. the sony driver does lag but only on cfw 3.80m33 and 3.90m33 if you want to use that one id wait until dark_alexs makes a patch for it (thats if hes not working on new cfw and has free time)

i dont know. iv never used it before if you give me the link then i can have a look at it but if you read the readme's it should explain all.

this is a slim right? you can enable a thing through recovery mode to turn usb charge on but i dont know if it will work when the psp is off. i dont even think it does charge on ofw when the psp is off but i dont own a slim so i dont really now too much on this subject.
Originally posted by kevindd99: what is the recommended setting for the "game folder homebrew" in recovery mode?
the game folder on a slim will always be 3.XX because it can run fw lower than 3.60 (apart from when using dark_alexs timemachine) but again unsure becasue i dont have a slim.
if its a phat psp then i would suggest just making a game150 folder and a gameXXX folder (where XXX is the other fw mixed to make the cfw e.g game371) but for homebrew set it to 1.50 kernel and for cfw updates you will have to set it to the other one e.g 3.71kernel
Originally posted by kevindd99: how about the "fake region"?
this is for if the game you have is set to a different region for example if you have a usa psp and want to play a locked eu game then it wont work fakeing the region means that you can make the psp region to eu so it will play on your usa psp. so if you buy a locked japanese game set it to japan
it is mainly used for UMD videos i think as most psp games are not locked to a region

this resets all the hardware before the psp hombrew app is lanched. it not really needed much but (with out it on) if you where using the internet (using a lot of ram) and then when to launch a very heavy homebrew app it may take a long time to load as it needs to get rid of all the stuff from the ram, hardreset would have cleared the ram before the app loaded meaning it would have loaded quicker (at least that how i think it works)

if system101 is a plugin the you can enable and disable it to start and stop it from working.
plugin is basicly a added extra to the cfw some examples can be a screen shot taker. there are a lot out there but make sure there for your cfw
hope that makes it all clear for you 0_<
also if you dont know what your cfw is go to
settings --> system settings --> system information
and it should display it as something like 3.90m33

here's the link: http://pspslimhacks.com/psp-downloads/?dl_page=2
notice that in the "PSP Homebrew Applications" section, there are two system player 101 files. I am not quite sure if the latter is a patch for the other one or if its already the update version. that info is not also in the readme of both files. please check. thanks!

iv never used it before but from what i have read it sound like a good app but whether it works on the slim i dont know but you can try it theres no harm
there was no instillation instructions so i think all you need to do is copy the seplugin to the root of your mem stick.
x:\seplugin
where x is the psp root
hope that helps
