i have a usb 2.0 retractable cable with one end as a usb interface and the other end split into two, one mini usb and one mini plug (like the one in the dc charger included in the package). what will happen if i connect both mini usb and mini plug into their respective ports?

one charges the psp and the other connects it to the usb hub 0_<

its not going to blow up if you lug both in at the same time if sure it wouldnt be on the market if they did 0_<

why does the orange led light up when it is connected to the mini usb ONLY? and there's an option of "usb charge" right?

Yeh - the mini usb can charge.

It can be enabled in the recovery menu (hold R when turning on) and also under system settings. It will only charge when the usb connection is made by clicking connect - not just when the usb cable is connected (does that make sense?)

I wouldn't consider it a good idea to have both plugged in, as it's not gonna make it charge quicker and their could be a conflict.

ok thanks. but take note, even though i don't initiate the usb connection, the psp charges as long as it is connected through the mini usb and its power turned "ON". but when the psp is turned "OFF", that's the time it doesn't charge even connected to the mini usb.
