Hi just ripped a backup of my original Perfect Dark zero, thing is mulleter is saying it's an invalid SS.
Ripped with kreon 1.0 on XBC 2.7
I can't see why the SS might be bad since it's original, and all seems cool.
I've also noticed on a few occasions that it tells me the game isn't in the database, ok i can understand bad games but SKATE was quite popular for example as well as PGR4
also does Kreonchecker just give the "good kreon rip" message whatever? because I ripped it as an iso, I know I can select iso's
with kreonchecker but does it actually check a full iso? or will it only test .bin files properly?
If you ripped it yourself from an original, you know the ss is valid. It all just depends on what is in their database. Depending on the pressing date of the disc, it will have different numbers.
ok thanks, it's just that I read somewhere that kreon 1.0 can sometimes give bad rips and it's worrying :)
any idea about the kreon checker tho? does that check a full iso properly? (since mine are all originals i've not had it say bad rip but it could just be coded badly and be saying good rip to everything that isn't a .bin file)
Yep, you are right about Kreon creating bad rips randomly. Here's a more detailed thread: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=633097 . I actually try quite often to pass that knowledge on, but most don't listen or don't care. I use a ms28 drive now set up just for ripping. I picked it up off of eBay, and it was cheaper than buying a Samsung/Kreon.
And, of course, now that I'm not using the Kreon firmware, I don't use Kreon checker. So I can't really give you any detail on how good it works. But I believe there is more info on Kreon checker in that thread also.
hmm... not sure which firmware i'm on actually but i bought my xbox in february pre-chipped they "say" it's got the latest firmware on it from the point of shipping so i should be safe because that post is from december... i'll get in touch and ask them.
