Hi, new here. Been doing alot of reading here and the info is great. I have a problem now and I hope someone can help me. Wanted to play Orignal version of ssbb on my Wii with wiikey. So i followed the instruction on how to get it to work by unplugging the Wii at 70% 1.9b update and the game worked fine. Tried to recover my wiikey with recovery disc but no luck. Can't seem to get it to recover. Any help would be apperciated.

When you do the trick of pulling the plug at 70 while flashing,it corrupts the flash. Next time you boot the wii it by passes the wiikey. In the process you can damage the wiikey and it may not be able to be recovered. I read some where you that you can continue to try to recover and it may end up working.

People have lots of differnet ways of resetting the wiikey, if you look it up on google you will find an answer.

I have NEVER heard of all these different ways myself. If there was any other way other than to use the recovery disk than I think it would have actually be common knowledge and in one of the stickied threads here. ... I just did a quick google as well to make sure I hadn't missed something in all this time...

I believe I read in the SSBB thread that persistent attempts at using the recovery disk paid off in the end for some. Perhaps you should discuss your problem there instead as that's why you played with your wiikey in the first place m8 ;)

I have the smae problem .
I have D2B 1.9g , and I use 1.9b to upgrage and took the power at 70% .

I can see the first title page of original brawl disk and then it's loading ... loadinng.....
never been able to play the original disk .

Now I tried to recover the wiikey with 1.9b padded version , use imgburn on a Ridata dvd-r at 4x .

I followed the instruction ,
1. put the disk in ,
2. reset ,
3. wait 3-5 minutes ,
4. power off ,
5. power on , put a backup up in , wii can't read the disk .

It looks like , wii is trying to read the recover disk at all , no spinning sound , no movement .

HELP !
maybe the wiikey is corruptted , that would cost me another $60 !

I got mine to accept the recovery disc after and everything is fine now. I burned it to a maxell dvd-r at 1x with image burn. Put the disc in, hit reset, the screen came up, waited about 3 min. message came up on screen, disc error. Took disc out, reset the wii and all was fine. Updated with 1.9g and played backup copy of Brawl with no problems.

you have to burn it on a -DVD not +. It has to minus. TDK should be good. I used Maxell -DVD. I use them for all wii games. I got the recovery file from http://www.eurasia.nu/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2040

HELP!!!!!! IM DUMB AND HAVE FUJIFILM DVDs!!!!!!

And that is just the beginning....

Ok, modchip WiiKey, did not install it my self(regreatting that right now), played metroid fine, but resident evil paper and mario galaxy(especially) no good, was updated to the latest version of the Nintendo firmware(last update was Friday 03/14/08), probably 3.2 something, so that could be it, but probably dont have a good version of the firmware.

SO I want to restart, recover to 1.9b then update to 1.9g, so im going to buy good DVDs, some TDK or Maxwell, but here is my question...

WHY DOES NERO OR IMBURN TRY TO BURN IT TO A CD INSTEAD OF A DVD? THROWS ERRORS ALL THE TIME IF I TRY A DVD AND WONT READ(THE Wii) IF I DO A CD( BIG DUH )

PLEASE HELP!!!! IM a nOOB and dont know where is my mistake,is it just the brand or what?????

first off, don't type in caps. it annoys everyone. stop panicking.

you need a better dvd burner that supports writing to dvd(minus)r's.
If you have an older Mad Dog, Hitachi, or NEC drive, that could be the reason.

for instance i can't burn dvd-r on my NEC2500A but i can burn it on an external dvd+-rw drive

I apologize for the caps

Yeah my labtop is a bit old going on two years, and the DVD Burner has issues.

But just assumed since it did the burning with other DVD ISOs that it should do this, but ill try it with another machine.

Do you have a particular like to download a NERO version for vista so that I can put it in the other computer and that it will do the correct things that you guys are talking about?

no need to go fancy. stick with IMGburn- it's crossplatform compatible and best of all it's free. It's the replacement to the notorious DVDDecrypter too.

i used it to burn it from my vista machine.

Yeah It was very fast to download,

I thought it did not work because of the CD thing, but that was the hardware.

Ok, thanks again, hopefully now, ill just have to follow the instructions and the FUJIFILM DVDs are good enough
