Hi,

I am having problems running some games on my slimline with firmware version 3.90 M33-2.

I have quite a few ISO's and CSO's, and most are good. But the two I really want to play won't work. Namely "God Of War - Chains of Olympus" and "Burnout". The game shows up in the UI, I then select it, the PSP splash shows, then the screen goes black for a few seconds and the PSP just switches off?

Can anyone help?

I have tried the various emulation methods in the recovery menu, but same story.

if they are cso files then convert them back to iso god of war is the one that will play up most if its a cso.

you might have tried this but try the different no-UMD drivers

i prefer having if off they all work when its off

if you download it redownload it from another source it may be a bad iso

if its a rip rerip it and see if that fixes it

hope that all helps 0_<

if you downloaded the game from a forum site, the uploader should desplay info on what custom firmware the game has been tested on, and confirme working. it could be that the game isnt working cuz the configurations in the recovery menu are wrong?? I have had this black screen before, and have fixed it by changing such settings.

Damn you guys are fast to respond. Thanks!

I tried the various No-UMD options and nada. So going to put this down to a bad ISO and download it again.

Could not find settings at the download location I got it from. Just going to have to pull it again.

Thanks guys.

have you tried the different fake regions it maybe that the game is locked to a region so try the different ones and see if that works but its not normal for games to be locked to a region but its mainly videos

hope that helps 0_<

Still nana.. Pity. I tried all the regions. Oh well... It is currently downloading.

Another question. I have 2 * 2GB Sony sticks a 1 * 4GB Sony stick. I will sometimes copy a game to the 4GB and it does not show up, but if I copy the same game to the 2GB then it shows fine. Only some games. The 4GB seems to be intermittent while the 2GB works 100% every time. Any ideas?

it a fake to check this press triangle on the mem stick icon and then go to information and then if it says "magic gate supported : unknown" then its a fake if not the its genuine.

if it is a genuine format it and see if that fixes the problem

hope that helps 0_<

You are right. The 2 * 2GB sticks say supported while the 4GB is unsupported. That is sooo dodgy. I never paid for the 4GB so cannot complain.

Thx man

No. No corrupt data as yet. Game either displays or not.

Based on my discovery now of the fake 4GB, I am copying GOW to the 2GB. Maybe it runs from there.

Will let you know.

Great news... GOW works from the 2GB stick. So the fake stick was causing the problem.

I hunted the forums for quite a bit before posting my answer here, so perhaps you could add this solution to your arsenal of information. Another possible solution for a black screen is fake disk :)

Well I am happy. I can play my favourite game on my PSP too now.

Thanks for all you help and information. It is really appreciated.
