I am new to the forums so I apologize if I'm missing something. I tried searching for answers to my questions but couldn't find anything.
I have a slim PSP. I would like to install custom firmware so I can play backup games and install homebrew software. I have the pandora kit coming in the mail in the next couple days. I bought it off Finchmall.com. I also have a 4gb memcard on the way. I currently have a 1gb in my possession.
Question # 1 - Once I have loaded custom firmware, is there a way to revert everything back to the way it was when I got it, then update to the lastest official firmware? Basically meaning, if I want to "unmod" my psp.
Question # 2 - I like the features for the upcoming official firmware but I also want the advantages of having custom firmware. I found a couple guides on dual booting, but they all talk about using the 1.5 official firmware. Is there a way to dual boot custom firmware with official firmware, and still be able to update to the lastest?
Thanks in advance for your help. If you have any questions or need more info, please let me know.

Question 1: Yes you may revert it with a pandora battery and Magic memory stick.
Question 2: You cannot have the advantages of Custom firmware along with the Official firmware. 1.50 is the old version on a Phat PSP. That version is homebrew enabled so it is able to run homebrew apps.
I just noticed the M33 Firmware versions seem to follow the official version numbers. Do the custom M33 firmwares include the features of the official counterpart?
right your cool with pandoras battery so just follow the guide for making the magic mem stick and then your done and will have cfw.(use the 1gb stick 4gb is only supported in few magic mem stick makers)
now to answer your 2 questions
1) you can revert back to ofw (why you'd want to do that i dont know) i think you need to use dark_alex timemachine to do that. but remember slim can only run fw 3.60 + no 1.5
2) there is a way of having 2 fw but you need to mod your psp with the undiluted platinum mod (which i think is for phat psp only)
[link] . apart from that there is no other know way from doing it of a internal flash mem. time machine can sorta do it but it boots of the mem stick like the old devhook. but i dont know if it will work with the new one. any way wait a month or two and dark_alex will be out with the new 4.00 cfw.
another thing that i will say is that 4.00 is only a rumour at the moment so dont be expecting everything that its said to have.
hope that all helps 0_<
edit: yes cfw is a mix of the new and old fw unencrypted so it can support homebrew (phat) the slim is only unencrypted fw thats why some homebrews dont run. 0_<
I don't really understand what you mean by the M33 and the numbers.
This is what M33 is:
-Its a hacked firmware
-It includes the feature play ISO,edit your PSP in recovery mode, add custom themes, Choose the speed from the memory stick, homebrew enabled etc.
The version will still be the same as OFW but will have M33 at the end stating its a hacked firmware.
Sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but are you saying that the latest cfw includes the same options as the lastest ofw? For example when 4.00 come out for both ofw and dark_alex's cfw, the cfw will have all the same features as the ofw plus the homebrew options?
yes... the cfw is the same as the ofw, only with the changes that dax was kind enough to include.. recovery mode, play iso/homebrew off memory stick, etc.
what happens is that dax takes the ofw, decrypts it, and then infuses it with his own stuff making it m33 code.
