Weird sticker, maybe the pink square changes color when heat applied, or water is on it? weird.

Nope, it's not heat sensitive. My bud got the same sticker and removed it but didn't flash the console yet. Good thing because he had to turn around and send the console right back to MS. It won't connect to LIVE (it's not banned).
So he put that sticker back on and returned it. He just got the console back today and they worked on it. So they must not be able to tell if it's been removed.
I sent my nephews console in for repair. Got it back Tuesday and it had the new sticker.

That is BS.When I called them they said N/P Transferd it for me didn't even ask the former owner's name.It had nothing to do with being pre registerd.I'm sure in the 10 phone calls and 30 e-mails they would of told me that.

Edit: It even goes on to say that if you attempt to bypass the security or anti-piracy measures that your 360 will not be serviced, not even for a fee. So since they want you to pay $110, I'm going to say that's just further evidence that your warranty was not transferred.

They must of just put this into a effect,cause like I said mine was transfered over.

The only reason they did not repair mine was cause of the sticker had defects init.And it wasn't xbox that wanted 110 to fix,that was 360pros.They wont even fix your xbox(Microsoft) if the sticker has been tampered with not even for a fee.Just like your post says.If you read the post I made before I said it is in NY getting repaired not TX.I think there is some confusion on what you Read In my post.Which Could be easy to do seems how ,I dont always have the best choice of words.

wow, if the sticker is tamper with i can't get them to repair it. another reason not to get a 360. lol. 360 has too many problems, but they have great games.

If you tamper with a warranty sticker on any electronic item, would you expect the manufacturer to still honor the warranty? No. People who want to mod their 360s know that losing their warranty is one of the prices to pay.
Most know how to do it without voiding the warranty, though.

Do the new xbox's come with that sticker too? I'm getting an xbox back from repair in a week, and plan on buying a broken one from my friend. Was thinking of popping that sticker onto the broken one, that had the seal taken off already, but dunno if microsoft would notice that it should the other kind of seal.

just swap out the full case and call M$ and tell them it RROD again

btw, are these stickers easier to take off than the others? Had a really hard time getting them off before for my first xbox even after putting a hairdrier on it for awhile, and even while taking it off, but the way these stickers look seem like they'd be a bit easier.

These are easier to take off. And I don't know about swapping cases. The serial number on the case won't match the serial number on the metal tray and dashboard. They may notice.

What i mean was they wont fix it even for a price. (unless i read a post wrong) I have a 360 though, i've had some problems, haven't installed ixtreme firmware or any firmware on the drive though.

Yea my 360 came back w/one of those new stickers on it and it is much easier, i just did what rl7 said without even taking it off all the way.
About the whole theory about these stickers being extra security, i highly doubt it. They are actually most likely to save money, i'm sure those other stickers cost more to manufacture. They probably figured people are either going to take the time to get them off or they aren't, and a different sticker isn't going to change that fact. These stickers seem much more simple and are most likely cheaper to produce.
So imo the more likely reason is not that they are spending billions on heat-detecting nano-technology, but are saving maybe a couple million on a cheaper sticker.

thats exactly the same as mine when i tried to mod it a couple of weeks ago (turns out i broke the warranty sticker and couldnt end up modding it :() microsoft are looking for the line to still be intact so use a sharp knife through the middle and when ure done carefully put it together and it'll look as though it was never cut :) hope this helps

when i updated the firmware on my box i figured that was gonna void the warranty. so i didnt even bother to try to save the warranty sticker. when i took the case apart i just popped the clip and it opened leaving the sticker fully intacked. it wasnt even touching the other side of the case.

mirosoft honestly dont seem to care much about the warranty anymore anyway since so many of them are breaking when they get them they open the front and rip the warranty off and dont bother to check if its been opened lol usually they just end up sending u a new one

I honestly just used a hairdryer and took it straight off no problems.
I took it off so many times latly it's now stuck to the side of my pc monitor waiting until i have to send the box back to MS for one reason or another.

To be safe i'd get a little bit of super glue and stick it back down, or just use a hairdryer to heat it up and the adhesive should then hold it back on.
