Hi, i need to rip just single channels of a 5.1 track, off the dvd or a vob file.
I want to rip just the 2 front channels, maybe just the center aswell, anyone know how to do this i can't figure out anyway.
I use 'Rejig' (IFO mode) to demux the the audio from the DVD file folder.
If you have 'VLC' media player installed, it can transcode (using the 'Wizard' feature, 5.1 or DTS audio file to a six channel wav file).
Select 'Uncompressed Integer' as the output format and save it to the same folder as the source with a full name, eg 6ch.wav
'Audacity', can load the 6ch.wav file, display the six channels and you can delete channels, increase/lower volume, modify, and export the combined channels to a wav or mp3 stereo file.
Thanks attar. Well i've been using audcity for about 2 years now, the best program for editing audio files. But i didn't know that you could just load a whole 6 channel wav into audacity & it recognises it?!?!?! I can't remember the name of the demuxing program i use but i load the vobdemux the 5.1 into an ac3 file then i use besweet to put it into 6 mono wav's. I found this to be a pretty fast way of doing it. Thanks though. I've been wanting to do this for making Movie Scores that never got released i did one a minute ago or Monster Man(2003) burned it & i'm listening to it in my kitchen,lol, FOR PRIVATE USE ONLY! & also to extract vocals & background effects for movie projects, i make i my spare time. I hope this thread has ben helpful to any other afterdawners. We're a rare breed.
1 - Rip the dvd into smartripper, make sure setting are set to file-splitting, max-filesize. This will make 1 tidy vob with 5.1 sound. Under stream processing make sure you have 5.1 set or that the dvd has 5.1 at all. Not sure if you can some how rip separte channels from a pro-logic track hmmm........
2 - Then once you have your 1 tidy vob use DGIndex, under the audio tab go to output method select demux all tracks, then go to file tab & select demux audio only. This will give you an ac3 file, which should appear next to the original vob file you made it from.
3 - Load the ac3 file into Belight under input, then under output to where you want the 6 wavs to turn up.
Under the tabs pick wav/pcm, output format pick wav & finally pick 16 bits (six) mono wavs, i not sure if 32-bit works?!?!?!, then hit start & thats it you will have 6 mono wavs. I then loaded the left & right ones into audacity & made them into a stereo track & cut up & converted to mp3 to make an unofficial score, of course you can do what ever you want. I have found this very helpful, better than using the ac3 filter to record off using a wav sound card, never doing that again.lol
