i have a wii-key
I am not a noob, but I am having a lot of issues, and I want to know what type of dvd-r/dvd+r media people use. I have used 4 or 5 different types, all burnt at the same speed, some games work great, and i never have a problem, some have issues.

these are all dvd-r

Verbatim at 4x - Metroid Prime works perfect, never have a problem, Mario Galaxy is iffy, sometimes i have to do a hard boot, and then it works perfect.
Compusa at 2x - 70% games work, mario galaxy same issue.
HP at 2x - same thing, iffy
Matrix - 2x-4x - same thing.

I guess what media is the best. What is the majority that people use and what speed do you burn it at, i just want to get some ideas. Verbatim's work great for 360, but they suck for the Wii.

Please give me some ideas. Should i switch to dvd+r for the wii ?

verbs work great for me on wii @ 4x ('cept one game @ 8x) - are you using imgburn to burn the disks cos nero and other programs don't work as well for me regardless of the media?

Well in the beginning i was using Clone cd, that was working ok.

Then i started using nero image burn

I just downloaded imgburn about 5 mins ago, and made a fresh copy of SMG on a compusa dvd+r at 2x, and she works today and worked good, played a level got star.

All the games i burn, work right when i test them, load up the menu, etc just to try the game. When i want to actually play the game is when i get the read errors, lol wierd hey ?

So i will try SMG tomrrow and see what happens.

So i should use imgburn from now on ?

imgburn is the best program for Wii disks. Others will work but not as consistently well from what I have read and I don't doubt some ppl never use imgburn but it's definitely the most preferred.
