I have a Japanese console. I wanted to update my Firmware to 1.9g, but beforehand, I ran Config 1.3 to make sure that the Region Override was on. It was. I updated the firmware, but afterwards, found that I could no longer play any English games. I figured that it must have been the region override problem, since my Japanese games ran fine, so I tried to do it with Config 1.3, but it no longer played. It would read as a Gamecube disc, but it would display an error message when I do, advising me to turn off the Wii or read the instruction manual. I also tried Config 1.2 to no avail. Could someone please give me some advice on how to handle this matter?
