Ok first of congratulations on the great community you guys have here (yep first post :P). I have a fat PSP with 3.5HEN firmware (I used the famous noobz trick with the Lumines game). Now for what I know (and I'm really a noob on these things) I can downgrade to 1.5 firmware easily and use homebrew software with it, and run games with their ISO and .cso files right?
Unfortunately I've found that I have that special motherboard type, the TA-084 one, can I still downgrade to 1.5 firmware easily and run homebrew?
And after installing the 1.5 firmware do I still have to do anything else to run games and software from the psp?
And to finish, I've seen several recent firmwares that have been adapted to run homebrew like 3.90-m33 and sorts. Do games and such run on these firmwares or only on 1.5? Because if the answer is yes i rather have the 3.90 one with browser than the old 1.5 firmware.
Please forgive my noob questions, probably they have been answered before. Thanks alot for your help!
I'm waiting for my PSP to recharge to 100% before attempting the 1.5 downgrade. I hope it runs without any problem :)
I have an european PSP, more precisely from Portugal. So there's no problem in upgrading the firmware from 1.5 to 3.52m33 in a TA-082 motherboard right? :/
Just one final question, should I remain with the 3.52m33 cfw or upgrade to a more recent one? What option do ya recommend?
it should run fine if its a TA-082 then i know it will because it says that you can update to 3.30 + ofw but that odesnt matter because you can still update to cfw (higher than 3.30)
i would go to 3.71m33, 3.80m33 or 3.90m33 after finished because all games work on them at the moment.
make sure that you update to 3.52m33-2,3,4 before you can update to 3.71m33 + and also the 1.50 kernel is install separate to the 3.XX installer
I've downgraded to 1.5 firmware, and then to 3.52m33 without any problems at all.
I had to change the UMD MODE in the recovery console to Sony NP9660 NO UMD so the game ISO could run. I've followed the instructions somewhere on the web, and it said to use that sony mode. But there's also the m33 driver option, what should I use?
I've managed to run some games already, really cool guys :)
Just one final question, can I clear some of the files used in the downgrader and upgrade process, they take 100MB in total... I'm just afraid to delete something still necessary to the 3.52m33 firmware. Can you share some lights on this?
