... what chip should I get: D2CKey, D2Pro, Or Argon?
Also, please explain how does D2Ckey make the wii freeze when switching from GC to Wii mode, and how often does argon make the wii freeze without its update.

Just research each chip and see which one suits you the most. Forget about the D2CKey.

Because it's obsolete now. It has too much of a wire count and there are other better D2C-compatible chips.

D2CKey - not viable because of installation difficulties compared to other better chips. i.e. doing it yourself is a LOT harder or having it installed by a pro is more expensive. The D2Pro is the successor to the D2CKey - from the same ppl so you work out why they would do that if the D2CKey is good enough already. D2CKey was the FIRST of that line of chips - it was inevitable that better ones would come.

Of the 3 - I say ARGON... but if you want the programmer as well (and I'd guess you would) the Infectus 2 comes with the programmer, does the same job and is cheaper. The ARGON w/programmer costs a bit more. The ARGON is smaller and only for Wii, The Infectus works on other consoles as well.
