Is there any solderless mods out there or methods of booting games up via discs etc?? Looking at something similar to the swap magic presented to PS2??

Seen freeloader and Media launcher but they wont play the wii games will they??

There are bad contact issues with the wlip and also only some chips can be housed without soldering to the wlip - wiikey, cyclowiz are among those that can't ... i.e the better ones have to be soldered to the wlip.

If you are going to put a modchip in your Wii now I'd seriously advise the latest generation but if you're gonna put a wiikey in (the best older option) then I wouldn't even bother with wlip.

Also if your Wii has a D2C drive in it the wlip (wiikey etc.) is no good though the wiiclip (new product) aims to facilitate modchips in D2C Wiis. But there is still some soldering necessary to house the chip in the clip though I've seen pre-soldered wiiclipped chips for sale around.

There are new products/solutions all the time.
