Well I Burned it with sony dvd-r disc and it works perfect. No problems at all. You may have the pal version or no? I stick to my own region. Its safer and the compatibility issues are minimal.

I have used memorex dvd-r on a few games with no problems. I think maybe part of the equation is the burner, and the compatibility/quality of the burn it has with each media.

Use RegionFrii and select the ISO in the folder. It will tell you what region the disc image is from.

my girlfriend is having the same problem. Her Wii is d2c according to her serial number, but I don't know which modchip is installed as it was modded in Bolivia. She can't play this or Brawl (Jap or American) but I can on my modded d2b. I doubt its the media because all the other games that do work were also burned on memorex with same burner at same speed.

Here we go again.

Nintendo is using a new security sector on some of there most popular titles to block people from making illegal copy's but it isn't perfect. it works kinda and kinda has some issues.

That's irrelevant. The burner may be successful with most other games. It doesn't automatically follow that it WILL be successful on every game and even the most apparently consistent of burner/media combinations might have the odd image it struggles with. Many ppl can't use memorex but if you find some burners that handle them better it doesn't validate the overall compatability of memorex with all burners.

There are various factors media, speed, software and burner - and then you have to assume the drive in the Wii is happy enough to read the disk that has been burned and they aren't all consistent even if they are the same model drive in the wii.

I am having issues with this game also. I tried twice already with nero and imgburn and both times unsuccessful. I tried my old backups and they seem to work just fine. Not sure what the problem is.
