Ok..... I have been messing with my xbox for a day....... I have been posting how it wont turn on and all that......... well..... if I get it in just the right spot over the D0 point.... and PUSH the chip down when it starts up, USUALLY executer 2 will come up instaed of microsoft and ill ahve my hacked bios of evolution, it says "v 3921" ..... i thought I had on evox 4979 unless those are 2 different things... I'm kinda new...

Anyways.....instead of leaving my cd rom layin on the floor and my hard drive laying on the other side of the floor, what can I do to hold my chip down, my chip doesnt work at all if its too tight, I have it as snug as it will go, but when I put tape across the chip to hold it down against the mother board it never starts up, what must I do to hold this chip down so the pin will touch d0!!!

Using pliers try to modify the D0 pin so it put more pressure on the D0 spot! ( Be careful not to break this pin)

If you're feeling up to the challenge you can solder a wire from your chip to the D0 point! If you do be VERY CAREFUL as a xbox have micro-traces that are easy to lift if you heat too much!

30 gage wire... the one with only one wire in it. What do you mean by "I techniclally wouldnt even need the chip locked down"?

Yeah it's real thin... radio-shack have them most of the time... or any places that sells electronics. You,ll need to use a pencil-type solder iron at 15 to 30 watts (15 watts reccomended). If ever you do this I'm not responsible if you screw up your xbox. Oh and keep in mind that you should solder the wire by passing the wire through the hole and soldering it on the back of the board.

Yea my dad would do it.....so get a little wire, a 15 watt soldering iron, stick the wire through the hole, solder it to the back.....and just hope on hte front side it touched my chip on the little metal pin??

No you don't need the wire that came with the chip anymore if you solder the 30gauge wire, as long as you solder the other end of the wire to your modchip where it is written D0... What type of modchip do you have?

Well I have a SOLDERLESS chip, the "xecuter 2.3 lite plus" but the little pin on the chip just doenst push down far enough, so if i literally PUSH the chip down during start up it will usually start w/ the "xectuer" instead of "micrsoft" .....once in a while I have to move the chip around a little bit cuz D0 maybe isnt lined up, but I can always get it within a few tries...it just doesnt touch the point on the motherboard on its own.

Have you used the spacers and washers the right way? Maybe you should disassemble the whole thing and start over just to make sure everything was fine!

There was just one thing included with it...it was for under the screw, its round with cuts in and out along the outside, I dont know if its supposed to be flipped a certain way, but it looks the same on both sides......I have it on the motherboard under the chip...... thats all that was included though. I have un-screwed and messed with the chip and re-screwed it a million times.... if you got any ideas on that just let me know. Thanks.

Have you read the installation manual on the Team Executer website? If not read it, it may help you!

Have you prepared the D0 hole so it gives a better contact? Is it very well aligned because a little bit offset could cause lots of problems.

You,ve got the green light lighting steady all the time when it's disabled? If so you should'nt have any problem running the chip... that is strange.. I'll do some research but I can't promise anything!

Alright thanks.... yea it just seems the right side of the chip where the D0 is doesnt go flat, but when I push it down everythings fine....... I just dontw anna have to have my xbox open to hold the chip down everytime I wanna play you know? thanks for the help...in the meantime I'll try maybe a different screw or a different washer of the same size, never know what could work........ Its not like a software prob...just a hardware prob.... thanks.......I'm off to work sooon but I'll look forward to responses, let me know if you come across anything. Thanks dude.

You could try without the washer but don't screw it too tight ... I wouldn't want you to screw up your modchip!
