Canuckerz, rule 4 should stay as is. It will keep the interest up. I don't want to play a CoD4 every time a tournament is arranged. To me all the rules and suggestions are looking great. Now the question is when is the first one? Lets start a signup and try to get one going for this weekend.

We still have to figure the amount of times for rule number 2 and 5, then I would like Oner's approval of it. Did he go on vacation again? It sure looks like it.

@Zero,
This Sat. at 2pm east. there was a COD 4 supposed to be going on, as far as I know it's still on. 10 people signed up before the thread got closed.

For the time for number 2 I was thinking 1 or 2 months, and for number 5 I was thinking of using the same guidelines that grkblood had used which was 1 hour beforehand. And the suspension would be 1 or 2 months if a valid excuse could not be given.

I'm not sure what CK's plans are for that.

Number two should be thirty days. As for number five the one hour rule sounds good but as for a suitable punishment maybe we could set the penalty for a no show to something around these guidelines.
1st offence) Suspension for 15 days
2nd) suspension for 30 days
3rd) tournament privilages revoked permanatly
Things happen and nobody is going to care if you can't make it because something comes up, but it's not fair to the organizers and participants of these matches if people commit and don't show.

I like the incremental idea alot, but I'd like to add one thing which would be that the slate gets wiped clean at new year unless they have been permanently banned. And since the tournaments are weekly/bi-weekly the suspensions would go by weeks IE.
1st offence 2 weeks
2nd offence 4 weeks
3rd permanent ban

This sounds like rule 5, but:
If a player says their going to join the tournament, but they don't show up, they will be banned from future tournamnets for X amount of days.

Yes, I've yet to change it as we've not 100% decided on it.

60? That doesn't make sense, wasn't after 25 posts junior member? and then 125 is member? The ranking system must only run so often or something.
Either way getting to 125 posts doesn't take long at all, it may be an inconvenience to some yes; which is why we put the OR in the rule to try to accommodate more people. At the same time you have to understand why the rule exists and why it has to stay the way it is.

I think its near time we decided whats happening so the tournaments can start.
We could sit hear all week debating rules and such, its time for action.

if we do manage to set up these tournaments it will be great but many people will just sign up for the sake of playing in the tournament, i know you have the rule member and above, but still people will just keep posting. I would keep it as member and above, but what i'm saying is maybe afterdawn will just be mainly used for tournaments, not for its original purpose. This is why I think that "Onar" will not approve of it, or the moderators.

Um it has been approved, it's Oner, and it takes 500 posts for Senior, not counting saftey valve.

We already wheeled and dealed the idea to them on another thread earlier. And I'm pretty sure I did change the req to member a while ago.

I'm likin the tournament idea. I think the rules are pretty much fine. For number 5, I'm thinking maybe something like 3 hours before. As others have said we've had problems with ppl not showing up for games on warkhawk before and it sucks.

When did Oner approve everything? What is safety valve?
The ideas are coming together nicely. Do we need to take some kind of vote now on the rules? My only suggestion is that the first tournament is not CoD4. I'd say start with something that hosts less players just to see how things go then we could take it from there.
