I was starting to wonder what was going on with this thread.I Say lets go ahead and set a tournament up. Pick the first game, figure out number of spots, and we will set the time and date as soon as we get oners approval.

hi read the last page and got what i think is a good idea if someone is a no-show to a tournament then why not have a subs list. so if one person doesn't show up the person at the top of the subs list would take their place so there would be no unfair teams just a idea though
also would the tournaments be worldwide?

How would we determine who plays and who goes on the sub list. I say make a sign up sheet and base it on a first come first serve type deal.

yea, but a sub list would be on a volunteer like basis. if no1 volunteers then no1 volunteers. it certainly doesnt hurt to have one.
EDIT:
I was assuming it wouldnt be list. Just a one person is the sub type deal, like a fail safe.

also what about times as i believe noon in gmt is still a workable time for whole of US(correct me if im wrong) but then people may have unavoidable commitments as in the WHOLE uk/europe based community at work/school etc?

I like that idea aswell but I was planning to orgainize it so that everyone can play like a 4 team tourney if the numbers allow it, but this idea seems like it would be much simpler. How should I word the explanation for it because I can't think of a way to put it.

I dont think it will work.
If we do have a subs list, and while its easy to contact people through AD here, are people going to sit and wait just incase someone drops out?
What if the subs themselves have an errand to run, or get caught up in somthing else?
Am sure you all know what am trying to say, i just cant see it happening...

this is how it would work
the tourney leader and sub get online 10 minutes before scheduled time.
the first invite from the leader should go to the sub. if a invite has not been given to the sub by schedule start time then the sub is the leader.
thats 10 minutes, more than enough for a tourney leader to get online.
also, the leader cannot begin to send invite until the start time.
all game show whos online so it shouldnt be a problem for the sub to see if the leader is online anywayws.

The ideas are coming together nicely. Do we need to take some kind of vote now on the rules? My only suggestion is that the first tournament is not CoD4. I'd say start with something that hosts less players just to see how things go then we could take it from there.

.... We Need Friends In The Real World??? Listen I do have friends and im sure everyone here does to. I play video games after im done with my work and i may only get one hour of game play. so its not like everyone here just plays video games all day

Rather hypocritical, isn't the whole point of the internet to converse with other people and share ideas? So if your going to shoot off about us please get off the internet before you do, so next time you wont make your self seem stupid.
Besides that this IS the real world, if we were on WoW or some other MMORPG and pretending to have a family then you would be correct; but these are FORUMS not some role playing game/site/whatever. So next time you and your little friends decide to get a chuckle out of shooting off at least do it in the right place.

I've been waiting for Oner but idk where the heck he is these days, hes only on once a week or less, I'll start putting together the tourney thread tomorrow morning as it looks like hes not gonna be back on here for a while to come and I'm beat right now.

Just created the tourney thread, and I have one last question that I had forgot to ask, would you rather have the tournaments on Saturday or Sunday? I realize some or many of you are religious but Saturday may be a busy day for alot of you as well.
