Hey guys,

I have one of the wiis that won't read the brawl disks. I want to have it replaced by nintendo. Do you think they will mind/or even check that my wii was opened. I opened it to install the wiikey, and I will be removing it before i send the wii back. What do you think?

Are you returning your Wii just because it wont play SSBB, or is it in some way a faulty unit?

Plenty of forum posts about SSBB not playing whereas the backup does. Might be easier to have the Wiikey replaced with the Infectus2 chip due out at the end of the month.

Actually Digibear is right - If you have an original copy of brawl the wiikey will NOT play it but the backup can work.

Since you have the wiikey out, put in the original SSBB and see if it boots up. If it does then you just had a bad burn. If it doesn't, then you should send in your wii.

Actually, test a few original discs. If they work there is nothing wrong with your Wii.

Since you have your modchip out, I would suggest replacing it with an Infectus2 chip next week.

Assuming you are capable of soldering yourself, it doesn't look to hard. Then you can play all the backups you want.
