Probably. Is your system PAL as well? What media are you using? Do other backups work? Are they also PAL? What is your chip?

Increase the Speed to 4x - if that doesn't work try x1 or x8 in what ever order you like. (Oh and I assume your chip is up to date btw?)

I know this isnt an answer to your prob, but that game blows. You would be sick of it in like 10mins anyways. Save the disc for something good.

I agree tbh - It'd be more fun and enjoyable to fry an egg LOL but if it was me I'd wanna lick the burn just so I know I can cos it may well help you when you need to burn a good game first time :)

cooking mama is a great game! I played it on the DS, and it was excellent.
Well.. the only "good" games on the wii are Brawl, mario galexy, zelda twilight princess and resident evil 4 at the moment.

thanks for the help tho! ill try it at 1x speed now

Okay all let's get this back on topic - you know problem playing Cooking Mama instead of turning it into a 'best/bad wii games' thing.

Dammit, speed at 1x failed. Maybe the image is bad? the torrent had alot of seeders tho, so im assuming its a good dump. Verbatim should be a good DVD brand tho.

THANKS juniR! Burning at 4x worked!
Why does it work at 4x and not at any other speed?

There are so many factors involved in burning :- burner, media, speed, reader, type of image, burner program etc. so success can be extremely varied. I had to burn one disk at 8x. If the recommended speed doesn't work then faster or slower is appropriate to try.

For the Wii 4x is the most successful for most ppl overall so it's a general (but NOT fixed) rule based on reported success - same with the media, verbatim seems to suit most which implies better compatability with more burners but others work as well especially if the burner likes the media.
