I don't need a drive to do Wii backups but I guess that it wouldn't suck. My primary thing is that it is a great burner.

I saw this one at Best Buy:

wait till it goes on sale for 69.99 or even the lowest i have seen it was 59.99 you can get it cheaper when its on sale also cross shop futur shop they tend to have it on sale more..

You can find burners much cheaper than that. Here is the one that I bought for like $30...

It has worked fine for all wii burns (including DL discs). It looks like it's not being sold on Newegg anymore, but the point is that there are much cheaper ones that do the job fine.

EDIT: Just realized you were looking for an external drive. Didn't see that point the first time I looked at it. Sorry for the confusion
