Hello,

I am having a big problem I downloaded this game called battalion wars 2 pal version from wiiiso.com by the way i have a pal wii with the latest wii firmware and i have a wiikey modchip but havent still updated it to 1.9g let me show what i did in steps

1. Downloaded battalion wars 2 pal wiiiso.com
2. extracted it using winrar
3. Ran the iso through wiiblockblocker just for safety
4. then i burned the iso using imgburn at 1x speed using Octron DVD-R Max 8x speed blank dvds by the way i choose to write the image
5. I waited for the blank dvd to verify after the burning was done
6. put it in my pal wii then i got a blank screen saying error something

i just wanted to know why my game is not working the game and the wii are both pal so ervything should be ok. is it not working because of my blank dvd because i have heard that you should use verbatim DVD-R instead but am not 2 sure so could someone please help out here and tell me what i should do done to make the game work

sorry for the long post i havent got any responses from other sites sp i wanted to try here thank you.

This game gave me a bit of chew when I burnt it.

PAL Wii 3.2E wiikey 1.9g Verbatim DVD-R - PAL version no brick block

I burnt it at 4x - that's my usual speed. Had a lockup, then 2x and the problem got worse so I burnt at 8x and it ran perfectly. That's the only time I've had a problem with Verbatim. Everything else goes straight down @ 4x. I still recommend them as I reckon it's more my burner that is at fault - it ain't the best.

Oh and I never verify cos it takes time - what can ya do once it's burnt? - If it works it works and I keep the image backed up on hard drive anyway in case it breaks down later.

yeah - try and get up to 1.9g. That should ensure you can run all available working backups.

Then try get some verbatim dvd-r and go for different speeds - 4x is the usual recommended but if it doesn't work it's appropriate to try other speeds.

Most burners are fine but there are so many so results vary depending on burner and media but in any case you should generally have success with yours - might take a bit of trial and error to get there, that's all. We all been through it to find what's best ourselves ;)

It's all in this thread here.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/597460

It starts at HOW TO UPDATE YOUR WIIKEY

The file you want is to extract and burn to disk is the 1.9g beta fix
You put that in and hopefully it runs and you hear Homers Simpson say, "You're all nuts" after it runs through the routine twice.

If it won't read the disk then you should try suggestions in that thread - you may need a config disk but it's pointless me adding anything more specific as you haven't tried yet.

The disk is critical just like it is for backups - use good media.

Take not of juniR here... always keep a backup isolated somewhere. Personally I burn the ISO as a data track to a UDF disc and return it to a spindle that isn't touched.

Well I don't really know how good your current disks are so if you can get some Verbatim you can just crack on then. PC World & Currys stock them (assuming you are UK) and they are about 12 quidish for 50 right now so not a bad deal. Make sure they are DVD-R.
