Help me guys!

Okay here is the story:
I have the wii firmware of 3.2u with the 1.9g wiikey,
and my backups WORKED fine!!!

However, I played wii + gamecube games [originals and backups] for 7 hours nonstop on my wii. Then when I switched an original game
to my backup game, my wii gave me a disc error. I was like WTF?!?! Then all of my backups did not work now, but the same backups worked before. Please help me!

Edits:
1.I have also been playing wii backups for 3 days.
2.It could be a wiikey problem, but the wiikey did work!!!
3. Wiikey was sent to modchipman.com so it was professionally installed [I have sent an email].
4.I am also using Sony DVD+R, and a Memorox DVD+DL....all of the discs worked fine because I WAS able to play them.
5.The last setting change I recall was changing my timer from 2007 to 2008.
6. My gamecube originals will not work now.

Thanks.

Problem Solved:
1. Opened Up my Wii
2. Saw a professional installation of the wiikey by modchipman
3. Put my wii back together
4. Pray to God that my backups work
5. Insert Disc
6. Become Awestruck when my backups loaded.

Cheers!

OK - Are you saying you started playing some original games and then when you tried a backup it didn't work or did some backups work at all in this 7 hour session? What brand are the backup DVDs?

EDIT - First thought after reading your edit is loose wiikey connection.

Thanks for the reply.
I am saying that I first played my backup games, then played some originals, then played some backup games, then played gamecube games, then played backups. Then when I loaded up a backup game, the disc channel couldnt read all of my backups.

[I am going to update the thread with more info].

It doesn't matter that they all worked at one stage. If some don't it may be down to an update. Updates can change things for the worse sometimes - it may have an adverse effect on some media i.e. they may not work like they used to. I personally wouldn't use memorex cos I heard too many bad reports. Yes they do work for some ppl but that means nothing cos the worst media can sometimes work as well. I've heard this problem loads as well and all I can suggest is change to Verbatim DVD-R.

Currently, none of them are not wrking.
Could it be my wiikey though?

If you put the disk in and you get absolutely nowhere with it then I'd have to think there's a problem with the wiikey.

I have googled many reports that the 1.9g update is not stable. Personally I haven't updated to it as it only affects my SMG at present.

Is there anyway you can run the 1.9b recovery disc and get the wiikey firmware reloaded.

As for 1.9g, I am sure many people use it without issue. You could be just unlucky.

If I do get the 1.9b recovery disc, will I still be able to play my backup of super smash bros brawl?

SSBB will not work with 1.9b, unless you used Trucha or something similar to remove the 001 drive check.

I had the exact same situation as you (worked 3 days, played an extended amount of time then stopped working), went to google and saw everyone saying it was related to 1.9g, turned out to simply be a loose wire for me. I think people are blaming 1.9g because that is what most people are using and a lot of time are calling it a fried or corrupted wiikey when it is really just a bad connection somewhere.

With all the people purposely corrupting their wiikey to play SSBB and being able to get it working again with the repair disk, I would put my money on loose connection if it doesn't work for you and not 1.9g.

I will look into my wii and see if there is a problem. (I doubt it though because my wiikey was professionally installed).

Thanks for the help so far!

Edit: Duo22, thanks for the help. Problem is solved. PLease see top of the thread for how I fixed it.

So was the cause a bad connection or defective chip?

I've got the same problem and the professional modchip installer cannot figure it out.

My problem is that I can play a backup for an hour. Power down, from that point on, no backup would play. Originals work fine. Chip is wiikey installed on D2B cut legs unit.

At first I would say its a defective chip, but now, all my backups somehow work perfectly fine. Ive been using the wii daily and I have not encountered that error message again. Also, my professional modder said 1.9g may not be stable so i would say go to 1.9s [you can download it straight off wiikey's website....yes it is back up].

Hope this sort of helps.

Edit: Lol, i guess the wiikey needs to be "warmed up" before running backups perfectly...also, i keep a backup game fbefore i shut down my wii so the wiikey be be forced to stay active when I load my wii again.

i keep bringing this up -- not sure if anyone wants to actively test this since testing it would require heat stressing your wii/wiikey. but in my observation, when the wiikey gets hot (ie. playing for a long time or having your wiiconnect24 on standby for a long period of time), it will overheat and stop functioning normally. backups stop working, discs won't read right, etc.

happened to me. left the wiiconnect on overnight, tried to put in a disc and it rejected every single backup i had. took a 15 minute break, and the backups started working again.

might help some.
