okay i flashed with 12x. instead of 8x. i keep getting dirty disc errors could this be the speed? it will give me dirty disc reads alot. and on freshly burnt games with zero scratchs

also sometimes videos in game skip. and music will skip or play then stop. then start up again

i just started using the firmware. uhhh if i want to go from 12 to 8, do i need to goto original then to 8x or can i just go from 12 to 8? and when it asks to backup firmware just use the 12x? i have the original saved on my computer

You have to restore to original and then reflash to 8x

Search for one Im not gonna spoon feed it to you. But then again if its a ben q id use dosflash 16 to restore it.

It depends on what drive you have. BenQ and Samsung don't have to be restored both drives go trough an erase process before the flashing (writing)begins. People have their preference 8x has works for some and 12x for others. 8X is a little slower when it comes to load times while playing but it is also a bit quieter. Go with 8x you wont regret it.
