Hello all, First time here for me, but really love all the advice, what a great site.Anyway here is my problem if anyone can help me? I have sucessfully used dvd shrink quite a few times and then use Veritas recordnow DX version 4.60 to burn my backup copy. But on a few occasions i get this error message that says: Error-10 at sector 1721376-disc write error-command:2a sense:03 asc: ocascq:08. This usually happens around the 80% done mark.I always turn my anti-virus and firewall software off when burning.I will give you my stats of pc: O.S windows XP, H.D:40gb,processor:1.7gz, ram:256m.b, DVD burner:sony dvd+-rw/+-r/cd, model# drv-510a.Also not sure if this makes a difference, but sometimes after using dvd shrink i might turn pc off for the night and go back and burn my backup the next day? also does it matter if i dont reauthor if the size of the dvd is around 4.1gz?
Thanking you guys in advance,
dazza.

what media are you using. it could be a media issue.

sometimes i won't burn the backup for a week. once it is on the hard drive, it's on.

if the dvd is a DVD-5 you definitely don't need to reauthor, but you can if you want.

Verbatim works great for me.. Only one I have heard of that you are using is Ritek. clueless about the others. Vernatim has not failed me though. Hope this helps
