Hey there.

I've been backing up my DVDs for awhile, and just recently I've ran in to some errors, while trying to back some up.

My system:
WinXP (HP Laptop)
Programs installed:
DVD Shrink
Nero 6 and 8
Sonic CD/DVD Record
(plus a couple of other similar programs).

My DVD burner will burn both + and - DVDs.

Currently I'm trying to Archive the movie 'Airplane'.

I've tried burning it on to both a - and a + DVD.

I used Sonic Record and while trying to write it failed to write to the DVD.
I used DVD Shrink and after encoding it, when it was getting ready to write, it gave me an error (posted at the end of my message).

It happens on either the - or + DVD.

I would be pleased if someone could look at this error and see what's going on.

Thanks.

Also, I've got a couple of other - DVDs that I tried and it burns to that one fine.
Not sure of the brand on that one (I think it's CompUSA brand or something).

The Brands that aren't working is a Maxell and Office Depot. I've used both brands in the past with no problem.

Horrible brands for your media. I learned the hard way along time ago
why people were adamant about the quality of media they used. Use ty's or verb's and I guaranty that you won't have as many problems.
