The above will work perfectly but another option is a UPMS stick, do exactly as above but has a few extra features. Take a look, hit the link in my sig or check the guide on this forum.

My slim psp is a 2001 model with 3.72 official firmware.

thank you i have just finished installing 3.71m33 on my psp.
What is the difference between the 3.71m33 and 3.90m33.
One last request can you guys give me a link on how to put games on your memory stick.
I have need for speed but its no in iso format.
one folder that say psp_game and another file Umd data bin.\
Any help would be appreciated.

Back up what you need(game saves, whatever) Format your memory stick in the psp and the folders are created for you. Don't forget to go to dark alex's site and grab the -4 update for 3.71

The iso's Go in the ISO folder after format.
