Should i get a Wiikey?

Hmm.. im wondering should i get a Wiikey...though the website is back..what is the chance of them totally dispearing? i mean they still sell their products and like 1 million people have these Wiikeys...do you think they will stay for future update for future games?

Or maybe i should an Argon...i dont know....any opionions?

If you want somebody to post info that says wiikey will definitely do you as it will be fully supported and is gonna be futureproof then you are wasting your time. Nobody knows. They disppeared without any word and I find that a bit hard to take as there is no excuse for not putting out info reassuring wiikey owners - they could have done that regardless of their own site being down. That can happen again and ppl will simply expect them to do the same thing. As a wiikey owner I hope they deliver but if I didn't have a modchip already I'd not choose wiikey as there are much better chips in any case.

Make your own mind up. The only facts are:- Argon is the much better chip with a much more certain future. Wiikey is cheap.

To help complicate your decision. Firmware 1.9s is out being beta tested and it appears to fix the problem with not reading original DL disks. It also looks like it will feature 2 new modes, Update blocking and Dev Mode. Though there isn't any documents out to say exactly what those are and how they work yet.

Edit: The chance of any team other then the opensource chips of totally disappearing is possible, but at least there is signs of life again from the wiikey team.

hopefully if one of these companies do drop they will release all the tools and software/code so we can open source it.
