Hey, I'm some what new to the ripping of XBOX games. I have experience with PS2 (they're so freakin easy), but I've had some major trouble with the XBOX. I have a modded 360, and have some back up, but they were down-loaded, not direct rip (rippin the originals has just been too labour intensive) but since its quite hard to get hold of specific games i want back-ups of, i thought i'd give my hand at ripping. I found a thread on here by cereal on how to rip, patch and burn. I followed his instructions, ripped out my pc drive, took the top off, dl'd wxripper and ss merger, used charlie and the chocolate factory (the new one) to rip, appeared to wrok fine, put the iso in ss merger, found the ss file, plugged that in, patched, but when i burned and put the back up in my 360, it told me the disc needed to be put in an xbox 360 consol to be played.
SO, what i'm wondering is if what i ripped was just the audio and video TS files that can be found on the 360 disc if you just look at he files. I've read else where that only certain drives can rip properly. I've also ready that you need to have a certain firmware flash for them to be able to read and rip them.
In case it matters, i use +R verbatim dl discs with imgburn, burning at x2.4 (the other back-ups have all worked at that speed) and the game was gears of war.
In addition to wondering what i did wrong in the rip, and if you need a special drive/firmware flash, i'm also wonder bout the stealth patches. From what i've read, u just find the PFI and DME files, and pop them into the ss merger program and BAM there ya go. is this right? and will it really let me play xbox live with little risk of being banned?

45$ ???? where's that at? A friend of mine looked into them and they came to like 80$ after shipping. if ya have a link for a 45$ kreon with a reasonable shipping cost, that'd be much appriciated.
10 minute rips?? mine was doing it in twice that time back when it was new. hell, now its up to like 45-60 minutes at the least. almost faster for me to download them.

Yea Mine only Takes About 10-13 minutes to rip a game
