Okay.I'm sure I can find it somewhere. So far haven't found it. So posting. I bought the adaptor connector for the wireless controller to be able to plug in any headet of my choosing from radioshack. Now my next step is find a compatible headset with mic and volume adjuster. I've already bought another headset from microsoft, but I don't want to open it just yet. I had one that came with the elite, but I either sold it, or misplaced it somewhere in storage cause I had no need for it at the time.It was black, now I have a white one, lame. My fault. But I'm interested in the halo 2 ear piece, but I'm told you need to buy an xbox communicator. If anyone could explain that to me. All I've been able to find is DIY pages with pics. Is there a place online that makes custom headsets for you,as long as you provide the parts and pay for it to be customed as in this case a HALO earpiece. If not, I'm looking for a single earpiece, with a mic and volume control, mute button is not neccessary, but prefered, that looks sleek and would match the black controller. Or a dual ear bud headset that's even, and looks nice and works good with it.I have cel phone earbuds, but their so stupid. One earbuds wire is smaller than the other.I hate these so much. Plus the mic adaptor's jack plug is built specificly for the cel phone. Since I know nothing of modding electronics of any kind. I wanted to just rip out the smaller bud, and use one, but without the mic it's pointless. Rather than open the microsoft headset, I wanna try this alternative method first.Any help is much appreciated. Also I'm not really looking to make this a wired headset VS. wireless headset from microsoft. I know people have had problems with both. I'm just trying to use an alternative.I know other parties make other headsets for the xbox 360, but some of those have had terrible reviews.Tops I'm just looking to get a headset that'll work, other than a microsoft brand,or third party.I know that might not make sense. But I can't really explain that better. One last thing maybe an adaptor that will use the 2.5 mm jack but has a built in volume and mic. They had only one at radioshack, but it was for stereo headsets 3.5 mm jack, and didn't have a mic.If I could find just that kind of adaptor,I'd be in business. All I would need is just headphones that would plug in with ease.

Well alright I guess I went overboard on it. Um basicly I bought the adaptor to plug in a headset to use it for xbox live. Same adaptor I'm looking for except it has a mic and volume adjuster as well. The only one they had was for regular stereo jack. The xbox controller requires a 2.5 mm jack a bluetooth connection I guess. If there's the adaptor I can find, or what would I need to properly use the halo 2 headset earpiece. I was told about about buying a xbox communicator for it to work. Sorry if I didn't explain well the first time.I just type fast, before I know it it's long.

CONTROLLER>2.5 JACK>(ADAPTOR WITH MIC WITH A STEREO PLUG INSERT AND HAS VOLUME CONTROL) is what I'm looking for. Then I can just plug in headphones of any kind and see if it works. They had one there at radio shack. But it doesn't have a mic.Just has a volume adjuster.
The adaptor I bought is a HEADSET JACK ADAPTOR. Plugs right in the xbox controller.

The package says 3/32" - to - 1/8" - Wireless phone

Turns a 3/32" 4-pole wireless phone headset jack into a 1/8" stereo headphone jack.

Ideal for use with phones that have a built-in mp3 player or radio.

I know it's for phones. But I read you can use this adaptor to be able to use any headset you want. Well I have to try it first. But you know.

And also what is required to use a halo headset.

I read al of this and i just ask myself "WHY"?
The original headphones for the 360 have a volume control and also a mute button. What more do you need?
then you have super-uber-headphones like these

and the Turtle Beach headphones from what i have heard from friends are amazing

All i know is that there are SSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many good headphones out there for the Xbox 360 i have no idea why someone would go through all of this trouble trying to get just any old stereo headphones to work. Just buy they 360 headphones and be done with it.
Like the link i posted for the Audio Extreme 360 Headphones.
How much better do you think you can get then a 5.1, 8 speaker digital surround sound headphone? I can tell you, your not.

Well like I said in the first post. I did buy an xbox microsoft headset. I just bought the extra adaptor thing just cause I heard you could use other headsets with it. So I could have an extra headset was all.To use for another controller. I also asked about the halo 2 headset but it's alright. I know there's other headsets that are good or whatever, but that wasn't the point. I was just wondering about a mic adaptor is all, but it's alright. Thanks anyway.Appreciate the help.I know I screwed up the first post. But eh,my bad.I found this adaptor on ebay anyway.Seems a few sellers have it.Wasn't easy to find it search, but a few came up finally. Even if I get it doesn't mean it will work. But I wanna try it anyway. It's just $7.

Controller>2.5jack(I bought at radioshack)>mic adaptor plug(found on ebay)>headphones I already have.

Just don't care to much for the wired headset, or the wireless headset microsoft has out. I bought a wired set. Just trying to make an extra with the plug.So yes, if it didn't work like I wanted to try, of course I'll go and just buy another one and be done with it.
