what wii modchip works with firmware 3.1U and the newer chipsets?

I want a wii modchip but i have firmware version 3.1U (via internet) and the newer chipset. Cyclowiz works with the newer chipset but what about fw 3.1U????? Or any other modchip? i dont care how difficult it is to put in just please suggest a modchip for me!!!

All chips work with all firmwares. They're chipset specific but any chip will work with any firmware so long as the wii has the proper chipset.

None of this makes sense - Cyclowiz works on what latest chipset? Chipsets and firmware aren't the same either. You wanna cut to the chase - get wasabi - not the best chip but good enough for ppl who don't like to think too much ;)

a chipset is how the hardware is made on the inside. in february 2007 they changed the chipset to hinder all the modchips useless. but now most of the modchips work on these chipsets.

LOL - I know what a chipset is - I'm saying what you say doesn't make sense. You talk about cyclowiz working on the latest chipset and it doesn't. It works on an earlier chipset. And most modchips don't work on all these chipsets. There are only 3 that will work on all chipsets. I've given you one. You obviously read some old info somewhere and assumed that it was current but you are way off the mark. It's March 2008 now and you're talking about what was news well over a year ago.

Lets make it more simple...

Forget the Wii firmware all together because that has no baring on what Modchip will and will not work on your Wii.

It depends on what chipset your Wii system has.

You have 2 options to figure out what chipset you have...

1) Go HERE and add your Wii Serial Number to the Wii Serial Tracker which will estimate what Chipset your Wii has. This is not 100% accurate but pretty close.

2) To be 100% accurate you will need to open the Wii and check the Drive Board to see what chipset you have.

Modchips fall in classes below...

DMS/D2A/D2B Chipset: Wiikey/CycloWiz/WiiD/Wiinja/WiiFree/YASOM/Wasabi and a few others (Infectus 2/ARGON will be added to this list soon).

D2C Chipset: ARGON/Infectus 2/D2CKey/D2CPro/D2Pro/Wasabi

DMS/D2A/D2B/D2C (Compatible with all chipsets): Wasabii (Infectus 2/ARGON will be added to this list soon).
