I've been having trouble with some of my burns. In particular games like Raving Rabbids 2, Sonic\Mario Olympics just to name a couple. All my other ones work fine, but these load and will go to the 'eject and turn off' screen either partway in or during transitions. Which makes me think it might have something to do with movies\animations but I'm not sure.
I've tried Verbatim and TDK dvds, burning at 1x and 2x several times. I've tried dling a rip, and ripping it myself with rawdump.
The wii has the d2c chip. One other strange thing, if it helps someone figure it out, is that it's always had a problem playing original disks since I bought it. 9 out of 10 times it won't recognize the disk.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Burn speed is too slow I reckon. Also you don't say what program you use. Imgburn @4x on Verbs or TDK should be ok generally. Even 8x might be better in some instances.

i've done 2x with TDK DVD+R for Batallion Wars 2, and it worked perfectly fine =x
I used ImgBurn.. my Wii is a first gen wii..

I use imgburn. Sorry, should have mentioned that. It's always the same games. I've probably tried Olympics more than 5 times.

wefan - it doesn't matter that you burn @ 2x and has success on DVD+R on your burner. It doesn't work like that. I dunno why you post that unless it's to suggest that 2x should work regardless which is wrong btw. I burned Battalion Wars on Verbatim DVD-R at 4x - and I got DREs. I burned it at 2x and it got worse. I burned it at 8x and it was perfect - on my burner. ...All trial and error see ;) I've read of some ppl who only burn at 16x as well btw.

In any case lucasbuck if you haven't tried 4x then do it and if that's no good try 8x like I already said. 4x is the most successful speed and the one generally recommended. Based on the fact you had problems at 1x and 2x I'd say you need to up the speed ... cos what else can you do eh?
